Glacial Ridge Chapter Minutes
Saturday August 2nd, 2008
6pm at Rooney's in Sedan

Meeting called to order at 6:05 pm
 
Donation checks were handed out by Todd Lund for the following:
  • Courage Cottage
  • Donnelly 1st Responders
  • Chokio 1st Responders
 
Secretary Report~ July meeting minutes were read and a motion to accept the minutes was made by Desi and seconded by Warren and passed by oral vote.
 
Treasurers Report~ Todd:
  • General account: $
  • Gambling account: $
  • We made $510.00 selling ABATE U raffle tickets
  • Motion to accept treasurer’s report made by Hives, seconded by Warren and passed by oral vote.
 
President’s Report~ no report
 
Vice President’s report~ passed the sign-up sheet for State Rally Security shift (8-12 Friday).

State Reps Report~ Deano:

  • New law passed about the license plates being vertical and not hanging from chains or horizontal.
  • Raffle tickets from ABATE U –only 803 out of 1000 were sold
  • Historians are looking for pictures from previous events and rally’s they will want them 2 weeks prior to the State Rally.
  • Membership and Retention- signed 494 singles and 193 couples at the Iowa State Rally in Algona-$50,600.00 was made for MN. We need more people to sign up to work the gates at this rally.
  • New contract was signed for the State Rally to be held at the Litchfield Fairgrounds for 5 years, not including this year. Board meeting for this was at Swans Café in Litchfield Mn. Over 30,000 in receipts were collected from last years rally to show the city that we do spend quite a bit of money there during the rally.  We will be collection receipts again this year.
  • Clean-up day before the State Rally is Sunday Aug 24th.
  • Products- no one has contacted Jane to sign up for a shift as of yet.  We need volunteers to help out.
  • Dial-a-Ride had 9 pick-ups last year and 7 so far this year.
  • Dial-a-ride trailer for our Chapter?
  • Deer strikes are at the highest level ever.
  • Blanket insurance was 100% voted in.  $100.00 will be taken out of chapter funds every August for this insurance.
  • A new Marketing Director was appointed-Maureen O’Hern

Public Relations/Historian~ Mary volunteered
 
Gambling Report~ Hives
  • 85 books out of 200 left to sell for the chapter raffle.
 
Events Committee~ Mark
  • Mark wants to retire. Still no one to replace him as of yet.
  • Sedan Days security sign up sheet be there by 7:00pm
 
PGR Update~ Vince has switched chapters. We will no longer have this report
 
Website~ Warren
  • Website has gotten rave reviews and a compliment from Greg Schmidt
  • GREAT JOB WARREN!
 
Old Business:
  • Passed the hat -cost deference for the rental of the tent for State Rally
  • Need more ideas for the distribution of Buddy Bears.
 
New Business:
  • Sedan Days-need to show some support for Tony and staff for all they have done for the chapter
 
Open Discussion:
  • Note Change-Next Meeting is August 31, 2008
  • Roping off our area for Rally on clean-up day.
  • Jory volunteered to get wood
  • Belgrade Days-volunteers to go and sell tickets.
