Saturday May 3rd 2008, 6pm at Rooney's in Sedan

Meeting called to order at 6:09 pm
 
Motion was made to wave the reading of the secretary’s report by Kinger and seconded by Hollywood (Joey) and passed by oral vote.

Motion to accept treasurer’s report made by Don, seconded by Jari, and passed by oral vote.

Vice President’s report~ Vonnie:
  • Volunteers needed for State Rally for the setting up and tearing down of the band equipment
State Reps Report~ Deano:
  • B.O.D. – Only  806 raffle tickets were sold for the bikes at Abate U. 
  • Hand-outs for Pope County Hospice
  • State Rally Tickets available
  • Membership and Retention shifts available at Algona.
  • Southwest District – Rolling Prairie and South Central won for most new members
  • Handed out Officer business cards and pins also handed out “Write to Ride” patches and rockers.

  • Looking for a new Public Relations person
  • On Wednesday, May 7th Governor Tim Paulenty will be signing the proclamation to make May the “Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Month”
  • People to Contact newspapers, radio stations about this event.
  • Renew MRF Membership for 100.00 Motion made to renew by Val, seconded by Derek and passed by oral vote.
Open Discussion:
  • Harry brought in a flyer about an Abate member passing away
  • Tim Leavitt died Saturday May 3, 2008 at approx. 1:00 pm
  • Motion was made by Mike to give 100.00 to family for support  Seconded by  Harry.
  • Discussion about this motion, amount possibly matched by Thrivent
  • Motion was amended by Bugs to make the amount given for family support
  • From 100.00 to 250.00 and seconded by Jari, was passed by oral vote.
  • Treasure will need a copy of minutes and flyer.
