Glacial Ridge Chapter Minutes
Saturday May 5th, 2007
6pm at Rooney's in Sedan
 
 

Officers Attending:

Meeting called to order at 6:02pm

Secretaries report read by Vonnie.  Motion to accept made by Boyd, seconded by Becky, and passed by oral vote.

 

Treasurers Report~ Todd:

General account: $ as of February 28th

Gambling account: $ as of March 31st

  • Todd has tickets for the chapter raffle. Hives will sign the tickets out to people and keep track of the money.
  • First responder checkes are in for the towns recieving money.  Will hand them out at the next meeting.
  • Motion to accept treasurers report made by Boyd, seconded by Becky, and passed by oral vote.
  •  

State Reps Report Chuckles:

  • Congrats to chapter.  Membership is up 19% and we are 2nd in the SW district.
  • MSAC is looking for volunteers.  Chuckles has a sign up sheet.
  • The state is looking for an editor for the road noise.
  • There are new bills being introduced to the house of representatives that affect morocyclists.
  • Chucles handed out state rally tickets.

 

Vice Presidents Report Rodney:

  • Everything is on track for state rally.
  • Boyd will NOT be taking care of dust control.
  • We are scheduled for security at state rally on Friday from 8pm to mid and then mid to 4am.  We need 9 people for the 8 to mid shift and 7 for the mid to 4 shift.

Government Relations Liaison Snap:

  • Failure to yeild bill is still in committee as they are still working on the wording.
  • The smoking ban has passed go through in 2009.

Public Relations/Historian Vonnie:

  • Scrap Books are updated and here.
  • Still need to get buddy bear pics to local newspapers.

Events CommitteeCraig:

  • We will be having a Midsummer Blizzard Bash at the Benson Bowling alley on the friday of the July BOD (20th).  Joey will be providing the music and there will be no cover charge as the only  money we will make is off the silent auction. Steve will be looking into setting up a ride from sedan to Benson for this event.
  • We will be doing the bike rodeo in Brooten on July 14th.

Website Warren:

  • Not here

 

Old Business:

  • Pope County Hospice June 16th and 17th. 
  • Motion made by Kurt Vanluik to donate $500 to Pope County Hospice, seconded by Craig.  Craig would like to have someone from hospice to come to the next meeting.  Motion tabled until next meeting.
  • Have a 3x5 flag but no idea on the prices.  Will check with Warren.
  • Wash Out will be tommorow from noon to 3pm.
  • Lowry Days: don't know anything new, tabled until next meeting.
  • Cancer Run: will be July 14th.  Howie meets with organizers, he has the route made for the run.  Will give update at next meeting.
  • LTD Memorial run: Have 501c3 number.  Run will leave montevideo and the cost is $15 per person. 

New Business:

  • Tent for state rally will cost $389.79 total, this includes the sides.  Motion made by Boyd to rent the tent, seconded by Tanya, and passed by oral vote.
  • Central Chapter is looking for security for their buddy bear bash in Hillman, they would need 8 to 10 people for security.
  • Fundraiser for Jdohn Schlaak: Marsha's is doing a fundraiser on the first saturday of August.  Motion made by Boyd to donate the $250 donation from Central chapter for doing their security min Hillman to this fundraiser, seconded by Craig, and passed by oral vote. 

 

Open Discussion:

  • Doolen had a great time at ABATE U.
  • South Central Chapter is having a fundraiser at Queen Bees tonight.
  • Party at Sturges place on June 9th.
  • Becky will be making custom leather head wraps and leather hats. 

Motion to adjourn made by Mark, seconded by Denise, and passed by oral vote.
