Glacial Ridge Chapter Minutes
Saturday November 4, 2006 5pm

Meeting called to order at 5:00pm.
 
Secretaries report read by Vonnie.  Motion to accept made by Mark, seconded by Trevor, and passed by oral vote.
 
Treasurers Report~ Todd:

State Reps Report~ Chuckles:
  • Next Southwest District meeting will be on December 9th at 2pm in Lynd at the Lyndwood Inn.
  • Next BOD is January 20th
  • Reminder that ABATE U is April 20 & 21 at the Holiday Inn in Alexandria.
  • American Income Insurance is going around for accidental death insurance.
  • We have 45 tickets for the ABATE U bike raffle and will not be signing out anymore until these are gone.
  • We have a chapter membership list of those who will soon lapse, please contact these people and remind them to renew their membership.
  • Biker Day at the Capitol will be the last week in January
  • DC trip is being planned for February 24th to the 27th and the cost will be $650. 
 
Vice Presidents Report~ Rodney:
  • Rodney checked on getting some meat to raffle off and he has some possibilities... more information to come.
  • We need 501c3 numbers for our first responder donations, please get the numbers for places that we have not donated to before.
 
Government Relations Liaison~ Steve:
  • Biker Day at the Capitol will be the last week in January, talk to your representatives about backing the failure to yeild bill.
  • "Write to Ride" patch if you send a letter to your rep and get a response back. 
Public Relations/Historian~ Vonnie:
  • Nothing
 
Events Committee~Craig:
  • Craig has done some checking and we could use the Sober Bus to do this buddy bear run. We need a date.. December, January, or March.  We could also split up the buddy bears and do two different runs.  Tanya suggested that we consider giving some to the St. Cloud Hospital because they have nothing like buddy bears and Moon clung to his when he was in the hospital there.  Discussion tabled until next meeting.
 
Website~ Warren:
  • In process of putting together a DVD disc to display at ABATE U.
  • Mom made a poster for Moon's benefit and it is now on the website so you can download it and print it up.
 
Old Business:
  • Moon's benefit is set for January 27th, Val has made flyers.  This will be a chilli feed and a silent auction.  We will have mild and hot chilli and advanced tickets will be $5  or $7 at the door. We have set the goal for funds at $5,000.  Hive will be in charge of advanced tickets, his phone number is 320-266-4945.  Snap will be in charge of setting up silent auction tables.  Chuckles will take care of advertisement.  Todd will take care of products.  Stephanie will be looking into getting matching funds.  Mary will bringing tomatoes and peppers.  Next month we will report back on what we have and what we need. 
  • Stephanie made a motion to put a full page asd in the Road Noise for Moon's benefit, seconded by Chuckles, and passed by oral vote.
  • Christmas party will be after the December 2nd meeting and we will be having a potluck.
  • Blizzard Bash will be held on February 24th so please start collecting items for the silent auction.
 
New Business:
  • South centrals Toys for tots. Val made a motion to donate $200 worth of toys, seconded by Tanya, and passed by oral vote. Julie volunteered to do the shopping.
 
Open Discussion:
  • Sturges has checked on a pig for the raffle and he has a meat locker that will process the meat and the winner can just pick the meat up at the locker.  We need to get a contract in order to be signed.
  • Trevor has some stocking caps available.
 
  • Motion to adjourn made by Val, seconded by Mark, and passed by oral vote.
 
Meeting adjourned at 6:23pm.
 
  • Tanya sends a BIG THANK YOU to all who sent cards or visited Moon while he recovered.
