Saturday February 4th, 2006

Meeting called to order at 6:02pm.
 
Secretaries minutes read by Spoon. Motion to accept made by Vonnie, seconded by Steve, and passed by oral vote.
 
Treasurers Report ~Todd:
  • general account
  • gambling account
  • Todd has information on ordering buddy bears, please have any buddy bear requests ready at next meeting.
  • A check will be reissued to Parkers Prairie for the check they lost from last years first responder donations.
 Motion to accept made by Vonnie, seconded by Deano, and passed by oral vote.
 
Government Relations ~ Steve:
  • Failure to Yield is being introduced again.
  • There was a MN State Trooper that killed a motorcyclist and he was charged with only 2 misdemeanor counts.
  • The Right to Repair Act has been introduced.  This act would protect vehicle owners by compelling manufacturers to disclose information that will help diagnose a vehicles problem or aid in the repairs.
 
State Reps Report:
  • ABATE U
  • Need raffle tickets returned or money turned in by April 15th.
  • Meal reservations need to be made by March 15th
  • Any one in need of an absentee ballot for elections must speak to Sherri Guerts
  • Buses for biker day at the capitol~ A $10 donation is sought to help cover the costs.
  • DC Trip~ Still waiting for information
  • State Rally~ Ticket prices are as follows:
    • Members~ $35 advance or $45 at the gate.
    • Non Members~ $35 advance and an additional $10 at the gate or $65 at the gate.
 
Vice President~Rodney:
  • Information on a possible bike run around Morris area.
 
President~ Boyd:
  • Right to Repair Act~ No Minnesota representatives signed.  Please get a hold of your rep and encourage them to get on board.
  • Biker Day at the Capitol is March 8th and the caucuses will be the 7th.
 
Old Business:
  • Clarification from Jan meeting for the first responder donations~ the amount voted on and passed was $500 to each of the picked places.  Jan meeting the motion was made by Deano to donate $500 to Cyris, Donnely, Chokio, Leaf Valley, and Miltona, seconded by Richard Torgeson, and passed by oral vote.
  • Checks should be ready to present at April meeting.
  • Val made a motion that includes:
  • Designating Bob King, Rod King, Craig Hanson, Todd Lund, and Boyd Fiebelkorn to choose & purchase the mini bikes for our raffle with a $1500 total limit.
  • To print up 2000 tickets to be sold at $5 a ticket for our mini bike raffle that is to be held at 6pm on Sunday September 3rd at the Meeker County Fairgrounds.  Motion was seconded by Bob King, and passed by oral vote.
  • As far as designating someone to do public relations, Vonnie already being our historian volunteered to submit photos and summaries to local newspapers.
 
New Business:
  • Val handed out old member lists and encouraged us all to contact some of these people to try to get them to rejoin.
  • Val made a motion that we sponsor our state rally with $250, seconded by Vonnie, and passed by oral vote.
  • Val and Paul T. will be presenting our sharing the road program to NHTSA on Feb 28th
  • Next district meeting will be at Rooneys on March 11th at 2 pm.
  • Due to scheduling conflicts Trini made a motion to change our April meeting to the 8th at 6pm, seconded by Joey, and passed by oral vote.
 
Motion to adjourn made by Vonnie, seconded by Trini, and passed by oral vote.
 
Meeting adjourned at 7:14pm.
