Glacial Ridge Chapter Minutes
Saturday January 7th, 2006
6pm
at Rooneys in Sedan

Meeting called to order at 6:10pm.
 
We began with a round of quick introductions.
 
Secretary’s Report Read by Spoon.
  • Motion to accept made by Vonnie, seconded by Steve, and passed by oral vote.

Treasurers Report  ~ Todd:
  • general account
  • gambling account 
  • Motion to accept made by Vonnie, seconded by Tanya, and passed by oral vote.

Government Relations ~ Steve:

  • ABATE of Colorado is interested in the Team Oregon curriculum but may be hindered by a possible lawsuit.
  • Jenklow is to get his law license reinstated.  AMA is launching the "Justice for All" campaign to get harsher penalties for those who injure/kill motorcyclists.
  • Jack Abramoff plead guilty to numerous charges that include conspiracy to bribe public officials.
  • Please get items for silent auction.
State Rep ~ Chuckles:
  • Please take time to look at articles on pages 5, 24, and 30 of Road Noise.
  • A review of the AMA Report sent by Val.
  • BOD is Jan. 21st.
  • Biker Day at the Capitol is March 8th & we will have busses available like last year.
  • DC trip is still up in the air... possible for Feb. or March.
  • ABATE U bike raffle tickets are on sale for $100 per.

Old Buisness:
  • First Responder donations~ motion made by Deano, seconded by Richard Torgeson, passed by oral vote to donate to Cyris, Donnely, Chokio, Leaf Valley, and Miltona.  (I can't read my writing for amount... will bring back to chapter)
  • Boyd has information on mini's for our raffle.
  • Todd will check on process to reissue check for Parkers Prairie as they lost the check we gave last year for first responders.
 
New Buisness:
  • Val brought up the idea that we need a public relations person.  This will help get us out into the public as a positive group.  Discussion tabled until next meeting.
  • Val also gave us a wonderful motavational speech again... thanks... we can always use Ma's words of wisdom.
 
Motion to adjourn meeting made by Vonnie, seconded by Tanya, and passed by oral vote.
